How do you feel about the current level of gridlock in Congress?

❗ It’s a major issue (70%) – "We need this extreme partisan nonsense to end. Our government is not considering the general public's needs and is instead too focused on party lines and attacking each other. The divide is extreme and we the people are suffering because of it."

• "Set aside their egomanical and self-centered demeanor, and connect, collaborate, and listen to their constituents and what America truly needs. The majority of the House and Senate provide no value, and are completely competent and serve no purpose to what the actual responsibilities are for the federal government. If I didn't know any better, I would consider this to be a transformative process to transform our democracy to communism."

"Honestly, I don't think they're capable of compromise. This current group contains : A- members who should have retired years ago and B- the new progressives who are more concerned with using the right pronoun than doing the job they were elected for. Total shambles!"

• "Institute term limits, harsher consequences for misbehavior and nonsense (pulling fire alarms, etc.), and more transparent accountability in reflecting how legislators are voting and how that vote is in response to their constituents' wishes."

"A lot of members of congress are more focused on fake culture wars than passing any real legislation. The republican party especially seems in complete chaos, barely able to keep a speaker of house in place due to all of the in-fighting between the right and far-right."

• "Evidently, they have lost the ability to compromise. It is very unfortunate that we, the voters, have allowed this stalemate to occur."

🤏 It’s a minor issue (16%) – "There are still good things that came out of this period of time, even if it was historically nonproductive. Infinite growth in the number of bills passed is not achievable alongside actually good laws."

• "Set time limits for everything and do not allow Congress persons to NOT WORK OUTSIDE Of Their Capital Location for more than 1 days of the week. Only a TOTAL OF FOUR WEEKS worth of vacations per year and these all fixed so that they work together at the same time and off at same times."

🙅 It’s not an issue at all (14%) – "Frankly, the government has been overreaching for decades. To judge a congress by the amount of bills they pass is ridiculous. If anything, they should begin the repeal process, significantly simplify the tax code, introduce term limits for every branch, and downsize both the government and the social programs. Every one of those is politically charged and that's going to take time and energy. You wouldn't expect to see the bill churning engine humming at high speed."

• "Under normal conditions, I would think this was a major issue, but with the polarization and extremism being shown by both parties right now, I think it's functioning exactly the way it should. Most Americans want moderate politics. I'm still unclear on how we've found ourselves in such a mess."
