In your opinion, will former President Trump be the GOP nominee for the 2024 presidential election?

👍 Yes (52%) – "Trumps fan base is super strong, it is unclear to me why when there truly are better candidates. But just because there are better candidates doesn’t mean they will be voted for."

  • "People feel Trump was wronged; I feel the Trump presidency--although "cringe" in so many ways--was transgressive, and the American people felt the energy of progress."

"He says what he means (with a bit of humor and a lot of arrogance). People are drawn to someone who doesn't always say the "politically correct" thing. Right or wrong, he calls them as he sees them. DeSantis just seems like an angry man - lacks humor. And Haley flip flops. We can't have someone who tries to set a direction constantly changing the direction based on whose board she may become part of."

  • "Because he has his finger on the pulse of what people want. He is a narcissistic knucklehead and says bone-headed things, but he bluntly points out what a vast majority of people think and feel and believe."

"Despite the controversy which always follows Trump, he has a great many loyal supporters. Because of the controversy, I don't see him as a great 'uniter' for the country."

👎 No (25%) – "I believe Republicans will be weary of his numerous indictments & his antics. I also believe many people, when push comes to shove, will vote for someone fresh & independents will also not vote for him."

  • "Hopefully my fellow conservatives will see the light and realize a narcissistic lying self serving person is not presidential material. Someone will step up with a platform to secure our border, stop anchor babies, and work on our economy. And that someone won’t create an atmosphere of hate and be able to lead a cabinet properly. Trump wants to be a dictator and if we were truly Americans he should be accused of treason."

🤷 Unsure/other (23%) – "It's so hard to tell right now - with states challenging even having Trump's name on the ballot and the ongoing legal situations, I don't think anyone can predict what will happen. If there are no circumstances that stop Trump from continuing to campaign and he is allowed to legally hold the POTUS office, I think the GOP will be nothing short of forced to choose him as the nominee because of the overwhelming support he has as compared to any other Republican candidate. Choosing anyone else will inevitably decrease voter turnout in red states, divide the vote, etc. The GOP has a tough choice to make - do they want a Republican in office strongly enough for it to be Trump again?"

  • "It is certainly looking like it at this point, but there will be many judicial decisions made before November, and who knows what else the dirt-diggers will uncover. Is it unwise to wish for two brand new candidates for the major parties? Is it safer to deal with what and who we at least already know?"
