👍 Yes (55%) – "Seems like a no brainer to me since the 14th amendment clearly states that Americans who take an oath to uphold the Constitution but then “engage in insurrection “ are DISQUALIFIED from holding future public office. Why this is even a question should be way beyond anyone’s comprehension. All of this being said, the only way he should be allowed to remain on the ballot is if it is determined that he in fact did not engage in an insurrection."
"He fed the flames, stoked his followers into action, and then sat back and did nothing to stop it. Even when he finally relented to make a statement, it was half-hearted. And in the time since, he continues to stoke the fire."
"Trump has done more to divide, humiliate, promote hatred, bigoty, racism, misogyny and treason to the American people than anyone who has ever held a political position. His continues presence in the United States will be our downfall as a nation."
👎 No (35%) – "He has not been charged or convicted of insurrection. I can’t believe the ignorance of these supposedly genius lawyers who presented this case to the Supreme Court. Shame on the Colorado legal system!! Let the residents of the state decide who to vote for."
"Jan. 6 was not an insurrection; that term has been used by political opponents in order to find illegitimate ways of disqualifying Trump. The Democratic Party continually tries to claim that they as “saving democracy” when they really are trying to make the US a one-party state controlled by themselves. I’ve noticed that the democrats like to blame the opposition for many things, but in reality they are the one doing the very same thing that they blame the opposition for."
🤷 Unsure/other (10%) – "I think this is highlighting a place where we need further legislation for how to handle situations where candidates are accused but have not yet stood trial. With domestic violence, accused cannot own or have firearms in their house until they sit trial and receive an innocent verdict because of how often victims are killed by the accused with fire arms. A similar “waiting period” law needs to be in effect considering the severity of the charges. Not a permanent disqualification without a guilty verdict, but he should not currently be eligible to run."
