In your opinion, what’s the number one policy issue heading into the November elections?

Immigration (23%) – "Our open turnstile at our southern border has the longest term negative impact on the US. High interest rates and inflation are only temporary. The potential for even worse crime, gangs and terrorism on US soil will be with us for the long term. We don’t have enough law enforcement as it is now from the CIA down to the local beat cop. Furthermore, how do you quantify the huge burden of having to house, educate and provide healthcare to these new people? How many taxpayers do you think we just let in?? Not many…just new dependents of government for years and years to come."

  • "We cannot provide housing, health care or mental health treatment to tens of thousands of American veterans and citizens. We have a $34 TRILLION deficit - and we cannot support millions more people overloading our schools and hospitals. It is treason that this has been allowed."

High cost of living/Economy in general (20%) – "The inflation and cost of living is unsustainable for middle class Americans. Everything in my life has increased, my utilities, taxes, groceries, groceries, groceries. People can't afford to buy houses, eat out, or purchase a new vehicle. It's completely out of control, yet Washington keeps spending. If the country isn't now waking up to the fact that we need a viable third party, then I don't know if they ever will."

  • "A poor economy can push people to extremes. We have seen it happen time and time again. It doesn’t matter what other issues are out there, if we can’t get the economy under control more and more extreme candidates will grab seats and then we won’t be able to accomplish anything. The economy right now is tricky. There are some big upsides like income outpacing inflation and also some big downsides like radical inflation of housing cost."

Election integrity/Democracy (17%) – "American Democracy has not led to an equitable solution to any of the other social issues, but it at least allows for its potential which has led to less than optimal progress in some areas and the opportunity to continue the struggle for equality in all areas."

  • "While there are plenty of worthy policies to name most important, the conclusion of this election will have the greatest impact on our Democracy as a whole and its election integrity. That more than anything is what illustrates the battle between the two presumptive nominees, Biden vs Trump. In my estimation, our democracy will be in far worse shape should Trump be elected over Biden, which will in turn create a much steeper wall to climb if we want to dig ourselves out of this political and economic pit anytime soon."

Abortion (12%) – "I’m a woman, and I have daughters who need chances that I had. I never had an abortion, and neither have they, so far, but the choice is crucial for women."

Crime/Violence (8%) – "This is an issue that transcends borders and neighborhoods."

Foreign policy (8%) – "The trend towards authoritarianism in the World and in far right extremists in the US is very threatening. We could be on the brink of another world war unless we back up our Allies now."

Mental health/Addiction (6%) – "I work in the school system and see daily need for strong mental health needs which should include elementary age students, parents, and educators. Schools are a mirror for our communities and not knowing how to respond to mental health is what keeps us from moving forward."

Other (6%) – "Environmental policy is becoming a strong factor in my voting choices. Second choice is immigration, third is foreign policy, but honestly those two issues could flip and it wouldn't make a difference. Maintaining our strength abroad and protecting our borders at home should be no brainers."

  • "I think all the issues listed are important. I think the most important issue is for congress to put partisan politics aside and focus on decisions that are in the overall best interest of our country. Both parties will have to make compromises for the overall benefit of the United States and its citizens."
