👍 Yes (46%) – "It's a free market version of a honey-pot. If you don't keep buying their stuff, you'll lose money in the functionality of Apple products, but consumers will spend more money to buy their products anyhow regardless of performance and functionality."

Sometimes the government looks out for the consumer and sometimes, like in this case imo, it is weaponized through lobbying by a companies competitors.
