👍 Yes (59%) – "I live in the totality in Indiana, and work is closed (Public Library)as well as lots of other companies, because we are expecting so many visitors and streets are expected to me overflowing. Gas prices already spiked by 80 percent and grocery stores are out of Milk. and its only Friday!!!"
"In Buffalo, NY, most of the local businesses are closed for the afternoon, or at least from 3pm-4pm, so that we can all view the eclipse! They expect millions of visitors from across the country from people who don't live in the path of totality, so we are encouraged to stay home and not try to drive anywhere to view it, because you might get stuck in traffic. I'll be sitting in my backyard!"
"We live in the path of totality in Ohio and our city is expecting a flood of visitors for the event. Schools and daycares are closed, which was a good call, so we are taking the opportunity to use it as a learning event! My 6 year old has been interested in all things space-related for about a year so we've been talking about what will happen, why it is happening, where the sun/moon/earth/other planets will be, and he is getting excited! We will be outside with our glasses making some core memories!"
👎 No (29%) – "Our weather will not be good for viewing, and I have seen a lot in my lifetime already."
"I saw a total eclipse in Portland, or while in middle school in 1979. If you see one you've seen them all."
🤷 Unsure/other (12%) – "Sadly, I don’t have the time in my day to experience such a scientific phenomena, but that doesn’t make it any less spectacular to study and learn about our incredible universe. I saw the last solar eclipse when I was about 11, so I feel like I might be set to be content till 2044."
