VP Kamala Harris (31%) – "She is the most logical choice. Since she is already on the ticket, that helps with all the legal issues surrounding the funds. Plus, she is currently second in command, so she is already prepared to lead if needed. She is a strong, level-headed person who will do great things for the country, as she has already been doing as Vice President."
"Harris reinvigorates the ticket with an energy that's been lacking thus far but preserves continuity with the incumbent administration. She will also trounce Trump in any debate if he doesn't back down from participating in one."
Gov. Gavin Newsom (CA) (8%) – "Gavin Newsome has the experience and demeanor to take the country in the right direction, both economically and environmentally."
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (MI) (6%) – "Whitmer comes from a state that many center voters would respect. Michigan has been very successful compared to other Democratic run states. I think if it were Harris or Newsom, many voters would associate them with the problems we have faced under Biden’s leadership. I find it best to look at track record over what politicians say they are going to do."
Gov. Andy Beshear (KY) (4%) – "In order to defeat Trump, they need to nominate someone more moderate, not extreme left. I would never vote for Harris or Newsom as a Californian who knows what they are really about, and they are also too progressive for most of the country."
Gov. Josh Shapiro (PA) (6%) – "He has worked for a majority of Pennsylvanians and touted across the aisle cooperation, not paritisan overpowering."
Gov. JB Pritzker (IL) (4%) – "He's the best leader among the bunch."
Rep. Dean Phillips (MN) (5%) – "We need a younger more moderate candidate that can swing voters who are not looking for an extreme liberal or conservative ticket."
Marianne Williamson (3%) – "I like her focus on love."
Michelle Obama (15%) – "Kamala hasn't really shown herself and her abilities. She has been kept under the radar and is going to have a hard time beating Trump's showmanship. She does not have a lot of time to establish herself and is going into this as more of an "unknown." The tasks she was given (immigration, border protection, etc.) have not exactly shown her in what I would hope would be her best light. Her involvement in immigration issues resulted in the Biden administration backtracking and reimplementing Trump-era rules. Michelle, on the other hand, is a very known name and she has quite the following. If Dems are going for a female, I think Michelle has a far better chance of succeeding in beating Trump than Kamala."
Other (6%) – "Everyone you listed promotes the party line and does not come with policy that represents the spirit upon which this country was built, nor do they represent the people -- only their largest donors and what it takes to be re-elected. We need change and every one of those listed represent more of the same we've had for the last 30 years. It is time for change."
Unsure (12%) – "I don't think Harris is popular enough to be a threat to Trump, but I don't know enough about any of the governors to know who would be a good choice."
