If you were going to vote in the 2024 presidential election today, which candidate would you choose?

Former President Trump (31%) – "I believe that Kamala Harris doesn’t have any solid positions I would expect her to actually stand with in office, given her history of switching her positions, and the positions she supports don’t align with my political beliefs."

• "When he was president, the economy was better, my finances were better, I felt safer, and I think the country's future was brighter than under the current administration. I don't believe Harris has changed all of her positions that she has claimed to have changed when she says that her values haven't changed and there is nothing that she would have done differently than the Biden administration has done."

"Harris supports policies that I cannot excuse or compromise with, and I am not confident in her ability to lead in a crisis. While Trump has flaws, his credibility was increased when RFK endorsed him, and he has shown a level head during an attempted assassination. Thus, Trump is the best option for president on this ballot."

Vice President Harris (47%) – "I will vote for VP Harris, because Mr Trump isn’t worthy of the office. His behavior—words, deeds—is beneath the dignity of the office and far below what we—and the rest of the world—should expect of our nation’s leader."

• "I am a registered democrat but do not necessarily vote by party. There are issues on both sides that I relate to, but I must vote for the person that best represents me as a human to the rest of the world. And that is not Donald Trump."

"It's a pretty clear choice for me. I don't understand why anyone would vote for the other candidate, seeing as how that person is a convicted felon, lacks character and is morally bankrupt. But then again, people sometimes and almost always, vote against their best interests."

• "There is plenty I dislike about Harris' policies. Her economic plan, record on immigration, and dismissive attitude around the war on Gaza do not instill much hope in me. Between Trump and Kamala, however, I believe Kamala is more supportive of the future I want for my children. As a mother of three daughters, I want them to be free to make their own choices in life. Also, the issues of paid maternal leave, universal childcare, public education and lowering the cost of early childhood are very important to me. The responses from Trump and Vance around these issues is that basically they don't matter, plus the way they speak about women is extremely alienating."

"I couldn't in good conscience vote for Trump. I find that most of what he spouts off is childish babble like name calling or outright lies. If he was ever in touch with the average citizen, he has lost that ability and seems to be in his own little world. I am not sure Harris will be a good president, but I definitely think a vote for her is the lessor of two evils."

A third-party candidate (9%) – "Trying to pick the lesser of two evils is my nightmare. Can the person running just stay in their lane verses point at the challenging runners wrongs? How can America have hope with leaders that constantly pick ar each other's faults? Social media has been the biggest culprit in this IMO."

Not planning to vote/Too young to vote (6%) – "If I could vote, I would vote for Trump because he goes through with what he says instead of changing it up as soon as he gets into office. I do agree more with the democratic side, but I don't agree with Kamala and how she goes with things."

Unsure/other (7%) – "I still haven't determined who is the lesser of two bad choices."
