"Any time two sides can come to an agreement to stop killing is a good, amazing thing and something we should always strive for sooner than later. However, we have forgotten that Hamas is a terrorist group using Palestinians as human shields to gain sympathy and protect themselves, so I'm conflicted. Israel has a right to defend itself and I feel like they've gotten a bad rap for doing so from many people who aren't old enough to remember America's worst terrorist attack and our swift and tough response to it. Although I'm supportive of a ceasefire in general terms, I'm not ok with the idea of negotiating with terrorists."
"If Hamas isn't completely obliterated, Israel will be in a similar situation as we saw in Iraq after the withdrawal in the early 90s which left Saddam Hussein in power. Similar because Hamas is fractured and largely without leadership, but we all know what happens in a power vacuum. Also, Israel is releasing military prisoners, Hamas is releasing the bodies (in some cases) of hostages and (hopefully) some live ones. Once again, Israel is being forced into a position of "being the bigger person". It's garbage. If Hamas puts down their weapons, there will be peace. If Israel does, there will be extermination."
"I think it's amazing that Trump winning the US presidency has started making the world a more peaceful place, even BEFORE officially taking office. I've seen videos of many world leaders who are thankful that the US will once again have a strong presence in the world, thus calming some of the tensions and wars that have broken out over the past four years of weak leadership."
