In general, how do you feel about the US government’s recent statements and actions regarding Europe?

👍 Support (23%) – "The EU says it is a huge supporter of Free Trade, so I think they should put their money where their mouth is. After writing a thesis on creating free trade of rice between the US and EU it is clear that the current barriers to trade are not equal going both ways."

• "I'm not just happy with how things are going, I'm ecstatic. We have always been the country that holds up the entire world. We're giving millions to other countries without taking care of our own people. What do other countries give to us? Nothing. Take care of our children and young adults. 👎 Oppose (69%) – "We are only the most powerful country because of our allies, if we shift that narrative like this, acting like we don’t need them, we quickly will become weaker. Europe is a powerhouse and it would do the Trump administration good to remember that we need allies."

• "If another World War starts, I definitely want to be on the side of our European allies and closest neighbors - Mexico and Canada, rather than long-time enemies like Russia, who can't be trusted. What is this administration thinking?"

"The United States is walking back seventy years of close relationships. In essence, we are indicating that a post WWII world order is no longer in our best interests and we're therefore abandoning our closest allies to some degree. That's a very dangerous game to play and that sort of thinking leads to much less safe and stable countries."

It is a horror and a travesty and makes me sick thinking of all of our soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our European allies being thrown away in moments. However, the goal should be to remedy the concerns and strengthen our relationships, not retaliate and move on. I'm not sure which is Trump's end game is at this point."
