How do you feel about the way America’s role in the Russia-Ukraine conflict has changed since President Trump took office?

👍 Support (27%) – "I'm thrilled to see the changes that have taken place since the Trump administration took control of the situation. Peace talks are further along than they ever were before. It seems like for the past 3 years we were just blindly feeding a war with no intention of meaningfully intervening to stop it. And although America continues to be one of the strongest countries and usually called upon for support, we shouldn't be giving away our money and resources with nothing in return. The dollars need to be earmarked to fix things in our country and if they aren't, we need to be getting something out of the deal as well, not just giving away the farm for free whenever someone asks."

  • "Anything that the President can do to end this war and secure a lasting piece I support. After the ineptitude of the Biden administration in handling this situation, it’s refreshing to have a person who is actually in charge and is leading the US!!"

"It's simple really. There is nothing in it for America. This is a war about principals around territorial aggression. But it has little to do with America or US taxpayers getting anything in return for our support. $65.4 billion sure could have helped a lot of Americans who can't afford homes, or lately even eggs! But we can afford to send billions to a corrupt government to support their war which hardly matters to us? I don't think so."

👎 Oppose (60%) – "I do not think it is wise to support Putin. I also do not agree with Trump as he is not making good choices. Russia is wrong, and the US dropping support is not smart, and forcing a mineral deal during a war is unethical. It’s selfish."

  • "If we are going to be the leader of the free world unfortunately we need to strenuously oppose aggressions such as the Russian and Chinese are currently imposing on much of the world if not it is only going to worsen."

"These brave people are fighting for their country against a tyrannical country that was unprovoked except by its greed for territory. Did we learn nothing from World War 2?! When you concede to the bullies it just gives them more motivation to keep taking what does not belong to them. We have the means to help Ukraine defeat Russia who has been our enemy from the end of World War 2, why wouldn’t we do so?!"

  • "It's morally outrageous that Trump is siding with Russia, but fully expected based on his closeness with Putin. Even many Republican politicians know that and are disgusted, whether or not they have the courage to stand up. It's also gross that Trump is forcing Ukraine to bargain away mineral rights for past aid received as well, without definite guarantees of security. Russia was and continues to be the clear aggressor here and should not be appeased. Also, what about the children and civilians stolen by them?"

"Let’s be very clear here, Russia invaded Ukraine unprovoked. Russia and Trump can say what they want but this is a fact. It is unbelievable to me anyone would believe Trump’s comments to the effect, Ukraine started this. The world should stand together and denounce any country who invades another country in an unprovoked manner. In Addition, no free country should be held back from joining an organization (NATO) if they want to. I don’t care what Putin says. He is a dictator and should not be allowed the courtesy of negotiating a peace deal without Ukraine’s involvement in the deal. The whole thing is completely ridiculous to me. I do commend Trump for apparently facilitating Europe to spend more on their own defense which many previous administrations should already have done. And I do believe there is waste and some fraud in our government needing to be stopped. But, when it comes to facts about world events, I cannot stand by our country’s positions at this point in time."

🤷 Unsure/other (13%) – "There are legitimate arguments for both maintaining support and decreasing support - we can't let Russia just trample over other countries, but Europe should be supporting Ukraine more than they are. I don't pretend to understand anything that goes on in Trump's mind, so I don't know what will happen with his talks with Putin."
