Do you think the Democrats’ surprise election win in Pennsylvania a sign of widespread national discontent with the Trump administration?

👍 Yes (56%) – "Too many chaotic decisions, senseless program cuts, sudden unemployed workers, lying to the people with Social Security, and alienating countries is just for starters! Let’s vote our discontent!"

  • "Yes, but we see this every time the executive branch changes parties. Mostly it wouldn't much matter WHAT the R in office did-- there'd be the the usual pearl-clutching, name calling, low-key domestic terrorism.... Pretty much precisely what we're seeing in America today."

"Many are disillusioned and disgusted by Trump's policies and overt racism and misogyny disguised as anti DEI. They also are upset with his letting an illegal immigrant take a chainsaw to our countries budget to gain tax breaks for the rich."

  • "Republicans are now coming to realize that Trump is not adhering to the promises he has made about bettering our country. For instance, the rise in tariffs and trade wars instigated by Trump will have a negative effect on American businesses and consumers, and republicans are now starting to realize that."

"Yes—whether it’s in the form of flipping anyone’s votes, that’s hard to say, but it’s certainly galvanizing turnout for people who do object to the Trump administration’s disgraceful misconduct since assuming office. Many voters who turned out to vote against Trump in 2020 (whether they liked Biden or not) didn’t vote in 2024, but are showing up now because the far right agenda is worse than most people imagined."

👎 No (32%) – "People voted for Trump for the exact policies he is implementing, which he did not hold secret in his election talks. So, if this Pennsylvania win is a reflection on people mad at Trump, then those are what I call flip flop voters and will go with whatever party that gives them the so called "promises" they are seeking. There is no way, if you are a Trump voter, that you are upset by what it is he is doing right now and it should definitely not be a surprise."

  • "No, I think it's exactly what they said, lower voter turnout. The republicans (and independents) that I know are all very happy with the current administration and with the policies being put in place. It does show that we can't be complacent."

"One event is nothing more than a single data point. The margin was close to a coin flip. You said nothing on the platform each ran upon and how that resonates with others across the US. And the 2 candidates are hardly Trump v Harris. Simply reading your blurb gives me nothing to draw any conclusion to remotely draw any conclusion or opinion other than "we'll see". But I do think the media is trying to influence people by reporting percentages that make it sound huge when the data would say it isn't noteworthy (40% laid off vs 400 lost their job)."

🤷 Unsure/other (12%) – "Every special election is claimed to be a referendum on the current national administration, however, it usually completely discounts all of the local factors that are in play, including: the current state government makeup, local issues, voter fatigue/enthusiasm, etc. It could be all of the above."
