There's a great deal of bias (65%) – "Seems like unbiased media can’t financially support itself in a time where individual media consumers respond most to stories that fear-monger or sensationalize."
"Journalism used to be "just the facts", unbiased and fair. Now it's all about sensationalism, taking blurbs out of context, twisting the facts to fit their narrative...disgusting manipulation that makes every single story unbelievable no matter which side is generating it. I have ZERO trust in the media."
"Seriously? This is the most obvious and accurate description of today’s media. No matter the source, it seems every story these days has a political bent to it. The gaslighting is so obvious, I presuppose there is no news worthy of my attention coming from the media. I do my best to avoid so called “news”."
"Journalists are no longer reporting the news these days. They are, at the direction of their employers, writing opinion pieces as to what they think happened, and are using their opinions to justify the reasons for what has happened."
There's a fair amount of bias (22%) – "Very little mainstream media currently is just about fact, instead reflecting how the viewership leans in how they think. Popular shows are popular, whether on right or left leaning media, because they say what people want to hear."
"All news is skewed to some degree, but it should be taken into serious consideration that Trump has demanded a more "left-leaning" news outlet skewed towards the center. Where's his callout to FOX? What about the demand for unbiased reporting from The Daily Wire, Newsmax, Daily Mail. I don't see these media outlets getting an ultimatum or Twitter threats from the current POTUS and we all know why."
There isn’t very much bias (8%) – "I believe most reputable news organizations are unbiased, that does not include the far right or far left news outlets which are definitely biased. Also, years ago the news was straightforward but now you often have the extremist news outlets sharing their opinion."
Unsure/other (5%) – "I think the amount of bias comes down to the type of media. Some bias in some types of media is fine, and should be expected. However bias in news media should be as limited as possible unless it is clearly marked as editorial/opinion."
