Yes (20%) – "The war never should have started, it was a failure on the Biden administration and NATO. However, it needs to end and Russia is winning and will be able to outlast Ukraine. The chance to cut a deal and not give up territory passed a long time ago. This now seems like the only way to end the war. Otherwise Russia will continue to move further into Ukraine and hundreds of thousands if not millions of additional Russian and Ukrainian lives will be lost."
No (69%) – "Russia cannot be trusted, and these easy gains will strengthen and embolden them to rebuild so that they can resume their expansionist goals once they are ready. The Article 5-like clause is an insufficient deterrent by itself, and it’s unclear what the final form of it would look like after further negotiation."
"Sovereignty—the principle that a state has supreme authority within its territorial boundaries—is foundational to the modern international system. Enshrined in the United Nations Charter and upheld by customary international law, respect for sovereignty ensures peaceful coexistence, mutual recognition, and the stability of global order. Since all the countries involved in the Ukraine situation subscribe to the UN Charter, and with two of the nations permanent members of the UN Security Council, Putin needs to be held accountable and his retreat from Ukraine should be put in place and enforced. And neither Trump of Putin have the right to determine the sovereignty of Ukraine."
"Concessions to dictators only leads to more demands. Putin has proved this. NATO should immediately admit Ukraine and put NATO troops on the line. Russia is spent. They’ve lost over 100k soldiers and their economy can barely sustain the war. Now is the time to make it clear to Dictator Putin, and would be dictator Trump, that the only option is an immediate ceasefire and complete Russian withdrawal from Ukraine territory, including Crimea."
Unsure/other (11%) – "I don’t believe I have a right to an opinion to a country who is not my own. A ceasefire sounds great and an easy choice to give up land but what was l the fighting for if they do that? It would mean Russia would win. And they are currently are not. A deal should only be made between the countries involved."
