0 or 1 day/week (31%) – "I work at a company that has been fully remote since they were founded fifteen years ago. I started at the company about a year ago. The employees are incredibly happy, do great work consistently and have the best work/life balance I've ever experienced. In fields where work from home is possible, it's by far the best way I've experienced to increase productivity and morale."
"Unless companies see worker productivity declining or need to justify use/cost of brick and mortal buildings, they shouldn’t disrupt worker’s preferences. I work from home. It was the reason that I left my last job to take this one and as a working mom, it gives me the work/life balance, I have long needed."
2 days/week (23%) – "Some office time is important to connect and build relationships with coworkers. Collaboration and culture are much easier to foster in person. That said, getting deep work done at the office can sometimes be impossible with the constant interruptions."
3 days/week (24%) – "This is a lot more nuanced than a straight across the board answer. The role and responsibilities really dictate the need here. As a remote executive, I personally see the value of in office time along with where the impacts from my teams maybe need reconsideration. The closer to entry level the role, the more important this seems to be. It also requires very strong management oversight, otherwise a weak manager allows for a week performing team."
4 days/week (12%) – "This is a very subjective question and truly depends upon the profession, as a classroom teacher I had no choice but to return full-time to the office (school), but some companies have many regions in many time-zones and this makes in office work redundant, but other jobs may benefit from having an easier collaborative role. I selected 4 days/week as there is some evidence that businesses surrounding these offices a financial benefit to the return to work, but many transit systems across North America are ill prepared for the increase usage. There is no ideal, there are many variables to take into account."
Full-time at the office (10%) – "Too many distractions when working from home reduces work efficiency. The major downside to working in an office is the commute time and stress of the commute. But people working from home face some of the same problems of working in an office, that being, getting to work on time. Working in an office gives people the opportunity for personal interaction and socialization that they don't get from working at home, something essential to being able to 'close the deal' or get work done."
