How do you feel about the Trump admin’s decision to charge former FBI Director James Comey?

Support (26%) – "I’m an independent voter. I don’t agree with Trump on a lot, and I no longer support him because of his stance on Israel, but let’s be honest: This isn’t about “retribution.” Trump won because voters saw the system weaponized against him. Democrats were so desperate to stick him with the “felon” label that it exposed how broken the system is. This isn’t about defending Trump. It’s about recognizing how dangerous it is when our government targets someone simply because they’re running for office. If it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone."

  • "It's amazing. When someone who did the lefts dirty work gets caught, it's controversial. When they originally spun their web of lies and deceit, "it's justice at work" and "nobody is above the law". The conspiracies Comey had peddled have been proven lies and he himself engaged in a continuing conspiracy to undermine a sitting President during his first term. Time to reap what you sowed, Comey."

Oppose (68%) – "More than the fear that I have of Trump doing this to more of his enemies, I fear that Democrats will reciprocate this practice when they are back in power and that it will become the way of politics in the United States. This is why gang warfare is never ending- it lives and breathes on a ethos of retaliation and retribution that is never ending and serves no purpose."

  • "Justice should not be able to be controlled by the President, any President. The US attorneys should be able to indict whomever they believe has broken the law. Justices should not be a pawn in any leader's arsenal for their political opponents."

"Given that a career prosecutor could not find adequate evidence to charge but the president’s attorney who has no prosecutorial experience does charge immediately after the president demands it, this looks like nothing more than retribution. So we lose an experienced prosecutor and get to waste money in what is likely to be an unsuccessful prosecution."

  • "The very idea that a President of the United States would have, and pursue, an enemies list is a direct violation of all our democracy is supposed to be about. It’s all about ego and a relentless pursuit of personal power. Ignoring such actions usually leads to the establishment of a dictatorship."

"This president gets more ridiculous everyday. Sadly, his supporters, though they must see his bizarre, bullying behavior, continue to defend his actions, though they reek of authoritarianism. It used to not matter so much whether the president was a Republican or Democrat - Congress had enough power that they could keep the government on an even keel and satisfy the country that the government was still stable. No more. Trump, with his divisive rhetoric, is driving the country to a civil war."

  • "Here we again answering another question from you about another outrageous act that throughout our history has been unthinkable. But here we are in 2025 watching an individual dismantle our democracy and the rule of law. And all with the blessing of one of our political parties. It used to be that at least the bad guy tried to hide his real intentions. Trump continues to say out loud exactly what he’s doing. And we say quietly “I hope somebody stops him”."

Unsure/other (6%) – "Just because it appears to be politically motivated, doesn't mean a crime was not committed. After all, the original case was politically motivated too. Let the American people inside to see the inner workings of our political "machines"."
