In general, how do you feel about the Trump admin’s new plan to lower US prescription drug prices?

Support (57%) – "This is much needed and long overdue. I for one was a victim of this because a drug I had to take a while back was not covered by insurance and would have cost me a ridiculous amount of money monthly - like thousands. I had to deal with using an inferior generic, which did not work as well as documented by my doctor, or go through the long arduous process of finding an alterinate suitable medication. If other wealthy countries have the same medication for less why are we paying so much for ours? It never made sense."

  • "This is perhaps the only policy I agree with during his tenure. Prescription medications prices in the US are too high. You go anywhere else in the world and you can get the same medications for a fraction of the cost. Why? Because of the private health sector."

"I'm not sure how anyone could disagree with this, but we all know some people can find the bad in anything Trump does, so I'm intrigued to find out what they'll say. Anyway, there is no reason why Americans should have to pay higher prices for drugs than other countries, particularly drugs that are made here. America subsidizes the entire world at the expense of our own people. I'm glad Trump is putting us first."

  • "Pharma does over charge for medications. Trump getting prices to come down is a win. A win Biden had started prior to leaving office. Just want to know at what cost is this to the American people. Also, TrumpRX? Why does LITERALLY every thing he does have to have his name on it? Its sus and makes me think in the end its him grifting again."

"There is no reason the people of the United States should pay almost 3x more than other countries for prescription medications they need. This country invests more per capita into health than any other country, yet we have some of the sickest people on the planet. Something needs to change and it's not spending more money."

  • "As an expensive RX drug user I believe any effort to lower prices overall is a good move. We pay more for our necessary RX than many, if not all other developed nations. Our entire system is skewed because of so many management layers in health/prescription insurance. We're skewed and screwed!"

Oppose (19%) – "Like all of Trump deals the devil is in the details. Most of all of these deals have not come to fruition. I don’t trust this administration—on the surface it appears good, but behind the scenes it’s not gonna go through. Pfizer will just hold off for three years because for tariff relief, and they’ll bail on their commitments when there’s a new president in office."

  • "While I'm glad he is working with drug companies, I'm concerned that this will not actually help the large number of people covered by private insurance."

Unsure/other (24%) – "I approve of the concept of this as there is a real need to do this but I worry about how this will roll out. In typical Trump fashion, it will happen due to pressure tactics that aren’t universal and aren’t sustainable once he leaves office. Instead of these quick gimmicks, I really wish he would devote time to working collectively and deeply on things like this that really matter to the American people."

  • "While this plan speaks to uninsured, how does this guarantee a drop in RX prices for insured Americans working to pay for insurance & medications? The working private insurers need assistance with lifesaving drugs too."
