In general, how do you feel about the Trump admin’s new plan to lower US prescription drug prices?

Support (57%) – "This is much needed and long overdue. I for one was a victim of this because a drug I had to take a while back was not covered by insurance and would have cost me a ridiculous amount of money monthly - like thousands. I had to deal with using an inferior generic, which did not work as well as documented by my doctor, or go through the long arduous process of finding an alterinate suitable medication. If other wealthy countries have the same medication for less why are we paying so much for ours? It never made sense."

• "This is perhaps the only policy I agree with during his tenure. Prescription medications prices in the US are too high. You go anywhere else in the world and you can get the same medications for a fraction of the cost. Why? Because of the private health sector."

"I'm not sure how anyone could disagree with this, but we all know some people can find the bad in anything Trump does, so I'm intrigued to find out what they'll say. Anyway, there is no reason why Americans should have to pay higher prices for drugs than other countries, particularly drugs that are made here. America subsidizes the entire world at the expense of our own people. I'm glad Trump is putting us first."

I don’t trust this administration—on the surface it appears good, but behind the scenes it’s not gonna go through. Pfizer will just hold off for three years because for tariff relief, and they’ll bail on their commitments when there’s a new president in office."

In typical Trump fashion, it will happen due to pressure tactics that aren’t universal and aren’t sustainable once he leaves office. Instead of these quick gimmicks, I really wish he would devote time to working collectively and deeply on things like this that really matter to the American people."
