In general, do you support or oppose Kevin Warsh as nominee for the next Federal Reserve Chair?

Support (26%) – "There have been few good fed chairs over time. They all tend to favor inflation and are fearful of deflation and a currency anchored on something other than the promise of the government. Our whole monetary system is on shakey ground. This goes well beyond the fed chair and the few things he can control. The system as a whole needs a revision and politics can't be part of it."

  • "From all I read, he has the proper credentials and is statiscally qualified to be the Fed Chair. It looks like he cares about the economy so I'm hopeful."

Oppose (38%) – "Like the SCOTUS, the Federal Reserve should be non-biased and operate free of political constraints and influence. The current nominee has a history of being on the wrong side of history regarding the economy (2008) when it comes to decision-making."

  • "He’s already showed signs of bending to Trump. We need an independent Fed outside the reach of Trump."

"His track record is consistently wrong on fiscal policy predictions and outcomes. If he were a football coach, based on his losing record, he would be fired."

  • "The role needs complete independence from the executive office. Walsh is Trump’s friend Lauder’s son-in-law. Lauder is behind the Greenland deal."

Unsure/other (36%) – "I hope for an independent fed. I'm not sure if we're going to have one with a lot of the candidates that are vying for the position. Inflation is bad and we have a congress that refuses to budge and do anything about it (because they have immense power to reduce inflation if they wanted to). I worry about someone who will lower interest rates when a gallon of milk can be $6 - 10. The prices keep going up, and people having easier access to credit is just going to make that worse. If Kevin Warsh remains independent then that's good. If he doesn't then that's bad. I hope he's willing to keep up the dual mandate to try to keep the economy running and isn't going to try to just pour oil on the fire so that there's a quick sugar rush for Trump."

  • "Only time will tell if he has America's best long-term interests as a priority, or if he will just be another yes-man to this administration."

"Who should be nominated is an 'academic' question as the fed needs to be audited to find out what they've REALLY been doing and whether or not they serve US citizens or the World Banking System."
