In general, do you support or oppose the new US-led Board of Peace?

Support (27%) – "The UN has failed to create real peace anywhere. So I'm all in favor of giving someone else a chance of doing it. The Europeans clearly suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, being afraid of his influence on the board. He has brokered several peace agreements and solutions between many different countries in his short time in this 2nd term. They should consider the results and not let their emotions lead them."

  • The UN is failing at its most basic duty. Hopefully, and that a really big hope, this body will actually work together to eliminate extremists & terrorists. In theory."

"The Board of Peace is a great opportunity to establish peace in Gaza. Both Israel and the Palestinians should strive for lasting peace. The Board of Peace might be able to soften the hate if Hamas is disbanded."

Oppose (64%) – "It seems like a lot of power for one man to hold over the entire board. I’m not specifically referring to President Trump, I wouldn’t want anyone having that much control over such a powerful organization."

  • "I think we have enough issues in our own country we need to sort out and don't love we're in charge. I like the idea of coalitions but I believe there needs to more of an equal partnership than the US president having complete control over the group when it's mainly impacting parts of the world that are very far away from our country."

"This is ~ sadly ~ yet another example of everything Trump sees being exclusively about TRUMP. The whole idea of competing with the UN is illogical, at best. He is including the worst actors on the world stage while repelling our staunchest allies. His inclusion/exclusion of Canada is reminiscent of schoolboys at recess: "I don't like you anymore so I'm taking the ball and going in." Always about ONLY Trump."

  • "A solid effort needs to be made to reform old systems if they are not working, before discarding them. "Tear it all down and start from scratch" often is a longer and less efficient process than just cleaning house in the existing infrastructure."

"The structure of our completely undermines the stated goals of the board. Chairman for life, pay to play, invitations (and rescinding capriciously) all show this as the corrupt farce that it is. It is not a serious or legitimate attempt to bring real peace to the world."

  • "A true board of peace would not be centered around one person having ultimate control. There is a reason our highest court, the supreme court, does not have a single judge at the top that makes all final decisions."

Unsure/other (9%) – "Not sure that the Board of Peace will be any more successful than the League of Nations or the United Nations. Frankly, I think the USA should stay far away from these types of organizations."
