Support (64%) – "Birthright citizenship is foundational to the United States as we know it. All of the immigration of the early 20th century directly led to the country becoming the world power it is today, attracting hard working and innovative individuals from around the globe. Eliminating it would be an unforced error of colossal scale."
"Citizenship is something that has been debated often during this administration, which has been frustrating. It's hard to see so many innocent people discriminated against just because of their citizenship. The 14th amendment was created for a reason and should not be revised."
"Birthright citizenship is exactly that, a right, as embellished in the Constitution. It is forged in this country's history and braced by legal precedent. To think that any person, let alone the President of the United States, could strike this or any right from the Constitution on a whim or personal belief is ludicrous. Life would be so simple if all citizens merely followed the laws and rules as written. To even consider striking this right from the law invokes the "common sense need not apply" theory. I hope the Supreme Court has the courage, and the common sense to do the right thing."
Oppose (31%) – "Birthright Citizenship has served its purpose, but has now become a monster and has taken on a new purpose of which it was not originally intended. Just look at the vast majority of countries that do not have it."
"Granting birthright citizenship to children of illegal aliens or non-citizens is an incentive for people to enter illegally, and have a child, an anchor baby then petition the government for permission to stay because they now have a citizen. Other countries, China for one take advantage of birthright citizenship by sending pregnant women to the United Stated for birth then travel back to China with their "citizen" who is then trained as a spy. Birthright citizenship was enacted to protect former slaves and their children from the democrats. Birthright citizenship has served its intended purpose and should now end."
Unsure/other (5%) – "Whether or not you agree with the 14th Amendment it is in fact an amendment. which means it is a part of the constitution. It cannot be undone with an executive order. If it wants to be undone, Congress would have to do it since our country is based on a system of checks and balances."
