✨ Mantra of the Week ✨ | | The universe wants me to succeed. I attract abundance.

👏🔦 The Sweet Spotlight | | 👶✈️ A real life beanie baby | Images: Kelly Levine | Jake and Kelly Levine took their first trip with five-month-old daughter Romey last month.
It was Romey's first time on a plane, and Jake and Kelly were worried about being that couple, holding a screaming baby on the flight.
The power of ✨ distraction ✨... Luckily, Romey was quiet as a mouse, mostly because of the woman sitting next to them who was crocheting a sweater throughout the flight.
- “Entranced is the perfect word,” Kelly said of her daughter's infatuation with the woman. “Romey is a very curious baby; she loves to just watch people and observe.”
As the five hours between Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Hoboken, New Jersey went by, Jake and Kelly were relieved and thankful to the crocheter in the seat next to them. Romey just couldn't seem to get enough of her.
And she noticed.
|
| Images: Meegan Rubin/Kelly Levine | “She started staring at me so inquisitively,” Meegan Rubin, the passenger, shared of the baby's adorable attention.
- So with an hour left of the flight and the perfect amount of yarn to finish a spontaneous project, Meegan got to work on her next thing.
- “Okay, it’s done!” she exclaimed just after the plane landed. She handed the new parents a beanie that was the perfect size for Romey's little head. Jake and Kelly stared back in shock.
- “We were totally shocked, as were the other passengers around us,” said Kelly Levine. “I was near tears.”
🧶 The backstory: Meegan crochets for fun, typically making things for friends and family – or an occasional commission if she has the time. When she noticed little Romey enthralled by her quick moving fingers, "[she] just had to" make her her own little hat.
👀 Looking ahead... Meegan and the Levines have stayed connected and hope to form a lasting friendship.

🚫🪴 Yep, you read that right... The Ugliest Lawn Competition was founded by Gotland, an island in Sweden, in partnership with actress and environmentalist Shailene Woodley. The goal? Encourage people to use less water for their lawns.
- “I am terribly proud!" Kathleen said of her win. "I knew I would have my 5 minutes of fame; even if it was for having the ugliest lawn on the planet! I am now liberated of ever mowing my lawn again.”

🏆 What's Your Win? | | 🚀 Blast from the past | Welcome, to What's Your Win, the section of the newsletter where readers just like you submit their own positive stories, and we hype them up like the kings and queens they are 🎉.
Unfortunately, we didn't receive any new submissions this week (side-eye to all 20,000+ of you). Luckily, though, we have some amazing wins from newsletters past to reshare 😍. So without further ado, check out the wins from this week in 2023:
✍️ Aiden A. from Lindale, Texas, is sticking to their newest habit...
- "I started writing in a diary consistently! I've been kinda struggling with bottling up my problems recently, and giving them material form really alleviates the burden!"
❤️ Mike T. from Tampa, Florida, is cherishing his family time...
- "All three of my kids live in different states, and the whole family was together this week for the first time in over a year. It was amazing being together and spending time with the family. I'm a lucky guy!"

🙏 Submit your wins | | Me, thinking about all of the possibilities of wins to send in: | Image: Giphy | 🥹 Can I be real with you? ... What's Your Win is my favorite part of the newsletter. When I started brainstorming Positive DONUT nearly three years ago, this section was one of the first things on my vision board; I wanted a place where people could feel safe and supported to share their day-to-day wins with a community of like-minded and positive individuals. How special is that?
However, we've been struggling lately to get new submissions. So let me know – is there anything we could do to this section to improve?
- Would it be helpful to submit your wins anonymously, or maybe a specific prompt would be more helpful to get those creative juices flowing? We'd hate to scrap this section, but with 20,000+ of you, we need your help to revive it!
🙏 TYSM in advance: I read every response and appreciate any feedback you may have🥰.
And while we're on the topic, submit your wins here to be featured in next week's newsletter. It can be something as simple as cleaning your room all the way up to a huge work promotion or engagement – like high-stakes poker, the win limits do not exist!
🥰 Submit your win(s) here.
