ππ¦ The Sweet Spotlight | | Everybodyβs favorite Glamma | Images: @legendary_glamma/Instagram | Margaret Chola is βsomewhere in her 80s.β Born in a rural village in Zambia, the grandmother does not have a birth certificate and has never known her real birthday. Married at around age 12 to a man 20 years her senior, Margaret had three children before eventually escaping the marriage. Bleak beginnings, yes β but now sheβs an internet sensation. Hailed as the βlegendary Glamma,β Margaret has rocketed to fame in the last two years thanks to her eclectic fashion photoshoots orchestrated by her granddaughter, Diana. It all started in 2023, when Diana took a few pictures of her grandma to share online with friends and family. She hoped to eventually have them printed and hung up in Margaretβs villa in Zambia. Within minutes of her posting, however, they had thousands of likes. "People just started requesting more," Diana recalled. "They were saying, 'This cannot be the beginning and the end. We need more of her. She has brought something we didn't know we needed.'" And thus, the "Granny Series" was born. |
|
| Diana quickly set Margaret up with an Instagram account for all her fans. The two women get together every two weeks to shoot content β Margaret has become known for her bold outfits (put together by Diana), often featuring over-the-top accessories and colorful prints. The love pours in from around the world, often from older women in their 60s-80s who remarked on how much she inspired them to wear whatever made them feel the most confident. - "It surprised me to hear that so many people around the world love me,β shared the fashionista. βI didnβt know I could make such an impact at this age."
- As Margaret became more comfortable in front of the camera, she started looking forward to the shoots more and more. She uses the outfits as posing inspiration, embodying each character in front of the lens.
β€οΈ Bottom line: More than anything, Margaret and Diana are thankful for the bonding experience the photoshoots have brought them. "We're doing this until she tells me she doesn't want to anymore," Diana said. "Until then, we're keeping it going." |

π What's Your Win? | | π What's Your Win is here... | And per usual, we have some incredible subscriber stories to share. Check out the wins that were sent in this week! πͺ One anonymous subscriber from Banja Luka, Bosnia, is snapping himself out of a fogβ¦ - βAfter nearly half of month of brain fog, I finally started studying for my upcoming exams and feel satisfied with myself. Itβs a feeling that I havenβt felt in months! β
πΌ Elizabeth C. from Texas is looking forward to springβ¦ - βI moved to Texas several years ago because I love the heat and the sun. The last few weeks of cold and near-constant gray have been really brutal for me and my mental health. I get up before dawn to walk my dog, and we had temps that were below zero with the wind chill. -5 degrees at one point. I live in Texas! I don't have clothes for -5-degree weather! It made my pleasant morning walk something I dreaded. But I kept doing it. This morning, I heard birds chirping on my walk for the first time in months, a sure sign to me that spring is on its way. It was a beautiful thing. It felt like a reward for my perseverance through the cold. And it definitely brought joy to my tired, winter-weary soul.β
πΌοΈ Deane B. from Charleston, SC, is following up on her winβ¦ - βLast fall, I wrote to you about the fresh stART art project, a powerful testament to resilience, unity, and the transformative power of creativity. 31 diverse women from across the country came together to create a single, collaborative work of art made up of 63 mini-compositions β one that honors, supports, and uplifts women embracing new beginnings. This collective piece is more than just artwork β itβs a visual narrative of survival, strength, and the beauty of fresh starts. Now, the fresh stART artwork stands as a beacon of inspiration for all women who seek renewal. It speaks to the heart, mind, and spirit, encouraging those facing challenges to move forward with hope, love, grace, and courage. Whether overcoming divorce, illness, loss, or major life transitions, the women behind this project have transformed pain into beauty, and brushstroke tells a story of perseverance, reminding us that new beginnings are not only possible but also worth celebrating."π
