ππ¦ The Sweet Spotlight | | Forget whirlwinds: This is a Blizzard romance | images: Heather Buckley Photography | When Olivia Morris first met her now-husband Bradley Blizzard in 2021, she thought he was joking about his last name. - βI've never heard that name other than Dairy Queen Blizzards or a blizzard snowstorm,β she told People. βI did not believe it at first.β
As the couple got more and more serious, Olivia realized that Blizzard, in fact, WAS Bradley's actual last name. Olivia couldn't help but think about the frozen Dairy Queen treat any time she was with himβone of her favorites to share with her dad in the summer growing up. The wheel starts turning...When the couple got engaged two years ago, Olivia started daydreaming about having a "Blizzard Bar" at their wedding. She took a shot in the dark and put up a TikTok asking Dairy Queen if they could help out the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Blizzard. As the power of social media often does...The algorithm worked its magic and got Olivia in touch with DQ executives. Before she knew it, her Blizzard wedding bucket list was coming true. |
|
| The fast food chain not only sponsored an engagement shoot at one of their Texas locations, they also supplied customized merch for their bachelor and bachelorette parties, including gift cards and a one-of-a-kind βMrs. Blizzardβ jacket. But the biggest surprise came on their wedding night. According to Bradley, just as the reception got started, one of the local franchise Dairy Queen owners showed up unannouncedβholding a big, huge Blizzard Dairy Queen cooler that was personalized for the couple, as well as Dairy Queen Blizzards for the entire wedding party. π¦π¦π¦Bottom line: The Blizzards (the couple, not the ice creams) are enjoying newly wedded bliss. As for all of the Dairy Queen treats leading up to the big day? The bride shared, βIt was just more than I could have even imagined." |

πΈ Pic of the Week | | When you have great cake (but not the kind created in the gym) | Image: SWNS | Braxton Harst bought his first box of cake mix only a year ago. Since, the thirteen-year-old baker has become a local celebrity for his impressive creationsβeven scoring a partnership with Betty Crocker and a nod to decorate one of his baked creations live on the news. π This takes the cake: The little baker is completely self taught, with everything he knows learned from YouTube. βWe didnβt even own a stand mixer when he started,β his mom shared with SWNS. βNow, Iβve had to rearrange our kitchen just to fit all his baking supplies and pans!β |

Big or small, there's always something to celebrate. Check out the submissions we received this week! β€οΈ Elizabeth C. is finding joy in the little momentsβ¦ - βI get up early every morning to get a long walk in before work. I'm a night owl by nature, so this can be pretty difficult. For most of the year I walk in the dark, but yesterday I had the joy of watching the sun rise in one direction while watching the full moon set in the other direction. Sometimes all you need is a small joy to appreciate the value of your dedication, and yesterday's walk felt like just that. It was incredibly beautiful.β
π Chase O. from New Orleans, Louisiana, is going by DOCTOR now β¦ - βI got my doctorate last weekend! Thank you to KAILYN [yes, this Kailyn] for all your years of support and encouragement. Love you lots.β
