Good evening. Some rough news, brother: Hulk Hogan, the shirt-shredding WWE legend with massive pythons💪, died earlier today at the age of 71.

Police and fire department personnel were called to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida, where he was treated for cardiac arrest, the police said in a “news alert” post on Facebook. Hogan—real name Terry Gene Bollea—was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Cartoon capers

It was a big week for South Park, the long-running hit show about cartoon children in Colorado.

  • First: South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone on Monday reached a five-year, $1.5 billion global streaming deal with Paramount for the rights to stream the animated series, ending a contentious negotiation that tangentially involved the White House.
  • Then: On Wednesday, the show dropped its opening episode of Season 27, a White House and Trump-centric affair you’ve probably seen a thousand clips of on TikTok already.

More fireworks are probably coming soon: Parker and Stone also signed-on to make 50 new episodes as part of the Paramount deal.

Zoom out: The show whose authoritah you need to respect is just one of several long-running animated series still churning out content. Others include Futurama and The Simpsons. Though oldies-but-goodies like Looney Tunes also exist, setting up a tough question…
