Good evening. Call of Duty is finally coming to the big screen—and not just the 85-inch behemoth you recently bought for your game room.

Yesterday, Paramount and Activision announced an agreement to develop and distribute a live-action Call of Duty movie based on the military videogame franchise that’s sold 500 million copies since it debuted in 2003.

It marks the latest in Hollywood’s videogame → movie pipeline, with other recent examples including The Super Mario Bros. Movie ($1+ billion at the global box office), A Minecraft Movie (~$960 million), and the three Sonic the Hedgehog movies ($1+ billion collectively).

• C) English navigator Henry Hudson, in a quest for a passage to India on behalf of the Dutch East India Company, sails into the harbor of present-day New York City and up the river that now bears his name.
• D) The Treaty of Paris is signed between Britain and the US, officially bringing the American Revolution to an end. The signing cements America’s status as a free nation, as Britain formally recognizes the independence of its 13 former American colonies in addition to the boundaries of the new republic.
