Each of the following events happened on October 10. Your challenge is to put them in the order in which they occurred by year, earliest to latest. Answers at the bottom!

• A) London Bridge—the same one Fergie sang about—reopens in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, after being dismantled and reconstructed (oh, snap!!!). Previously used in the UK for 600 years, the bridge still features lampposts made from melted-down cannons captured by the British from Napoleon's army in 1815.
• B) Wayne Gretzky makes his NHL debut. Twenty years later, when his career is all said and done, Gretzky is unanimously considered the best hockey player of all time—whose dominance, when laid out, is hard to even believe.
• C) The Mason-Dixon line is established: Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon complete their survey of the boundary between the colonies of Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as areas that would eventually become the states of Delaware and West Virginia. Initially intended to resolve a border dispute between colonies, the line later becomes the symbolic representation of America’s division between the free North and the slave-holding South in the lead-up to the Civil War.
• D) The United States Naval Academy opens in Annapolis, Maryland, with 50 midshipmen students and seven professors. The school, initially known as the Naval School, is renamed to the US Naval Academy five years later, when a new curriculum is introduced that requires midshipmen to study at the academy for four years and train aboard ships each summer (the basic format that still exists to this day).
