- A) 1926 – Harry Houdini dies. It’s said that a student punching him a few days early caused his death.
- C) 1941 – Mount Rushmore is completed. The mountain itself was named for Charles E. Rushmore, a New York lawyer.
- D) 1950 – Earl Lloyd becomes the first African American to play in the NBA. Lloyd was enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.
