📜 November 13: On This Day in History

Tsar Robin Hood

Each of the following events happened on November 13. Your challenge is to put them in the order in which they occurred by year, earliest to latest. Answers at the bottom!

  • A) A member of Indiana’s Textbook Commission calls for the removal of references to Robin Hood from textbooks used by the state’s schools. The push, which cites Robin Hood’s communist tendencies, is an example of the current “Red Scare” across America.
  • B) Kim Ng breaks several glass ceilings simultaneously when she is named general manager of the Miami Marlins. Ng is the first female GM in the history of North American professional men’s sports, and the first person of East Asian descent to lead an MLB front office.
  • C) The Nevado del Ruiz volcano in Colombia violently erupts. It would kill more than 23,000 people, injure 5,000+ others and destroy 5,000+ homes.
  • D) The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is dedicated in Washington, DC, after a march to its site by thousands of veterans of the conflict. The memorial is a simple V-shaped black-granite wall, inscribed with the names of the 57,939 Americans who died in the conflict.

Hint: Ruiz advances to third
