📜 November 21: On This Day in History

Dream a little dream of me

Image: Mississippi Today

Each of the following events happened on November 21. Your challenge is to put them in the order in which they occurred by year, earliest to latest. Answers at the bottom!

  • A) Ella Fitzgerald takes the stage at Harlem’s Apollo Theater to participate in its infamous Amateur Night. The teenaged Fitzgerald’s decision to sing, rather than dance as she initially had planned, sets her on a course toward becoming a musical legend known as the “Queen of Jazz.”
  • B) Rocky, starring Sylvester Stallone as the underdog prizefighter Rocky Balboa, debuts in New York City. The movie goes on to become a huge box-office hit and receive 10 Oscar nominations, including Best Actor for the then-little known Stallone.
  • C) Two French brothers make the first-ever untethered hot air balloon flight, flying 5.5 miles across Paris in roughly a half-hour.
  • D) The Mayflower Compact is signed by passengers on the Mayflower prior to landing at Plymouth, Massachusetts. It marks the first document to establish self-government in the New World.

Hint: Rocky was the last one standing in the ring

The problem with many sleep supplements—and why this one’s different

Melatonin works, until it doesn’t. Then your sleep schedule is worse than ever. You’ve heard magnesium can help. What you didn’t hear is that most forms can’t cross the blood-brain barrier effectively.

Enter Nature's Craft Sleeplex. Developed with magnesium L-threonate, which maximizes brain absorption so you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up refreshed. No melatonin, no grogginess, no rebound insomnia.

Magnesium L-threonate is also research-backed to support memory, learning, and healthy brain aging. Better sleep and sharper cognition.
