  • B) A US Navy aircraft squadron of five bombers, dubbed the “Lost Squadron,” disappears in the Bermuda Triangle while on a routine training mission. The aircraft all report instrument malfunctions two hours into the mission, before never being seen again.
  • C) Unusually heavy and dangerous smog begins to hover over London, England. The smog is so thick and dense that there’s virtually no sunlight, and visibility is reduced to just five yards in many places. It persists for five days, leading to the deaths of 4,000+ people.
  • D) The 21st Amendment to the US Constitution is ratified, repealing the 18th Amendment and bringing an end to America’s Prohibition era.
