📜 March 9: On This Day in History | | It was all a dream | Image: Multitrack Master | Each of the following events happened on March 9. Your challenge is to put them in the order in which they occurred by year, earliest to latest. Answers at the bottom! - A) Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls or the Notorious B.I.G., is shot to death at a stoplight in Los Angeles. The murder is thought to be the culmination of an ongoing feud between rap music artists from the East and West coasts.
- B) The first Barbie doll goes on display at the American Toy Fair in NYC. It represents the first mass-produced toy doll in US history to have adult features.
- C) One of the most famous naval battles in American history occurs as two ironclads, the USS Monitor and the CSS Virginia, fight to a drawoff near Hampton Roads, VA. The ships pound each other all morning—but their armor plates easily deflect the cannon shots, signaling a new era of steam-powered iron ships.
- D) Nearly 30 years after WWII ended, Hiroo Onoda, a Japanese intelligence officer hiding out in the Philippine jungle, is finally relieved of duty and surrenders the next day. He refused to believe the war was over until his former commander came from Japan to relieve him from duty.
Hint: It took Onoda nearly three decades to finally surrender |

🙌🪖 In partnership with WarriorWOD | | Jake was still alive. But he was disappearing. |
| He survived combat. Coming home was harder. Days passed without talking to anyone. He stopped going places he used to enjoy. Even the gym felt out of reach. Then another veteran reached out and met him there. No explanations. No labels. Just someone who knew what it was like to feel stuck. Jake came back the next day. And the day after that. There are 100+ veterans still waiting for someone to meet them where they are. You can be the reason one of them does not disappear. |
