Founded by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, and Biz Stone, Twitter (now X) would grow into one of the top social media platforms on Earth.
- B) Christian knights from Europe capture Jerusalem after seven weeks of siege during the First Crusade, and begin massacring the city’s Muslim and Jewish population.
- C) World-renowned Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace is murdered by spree killer Andrew Cunanan on the steps outside his Miami mansion, with Versace shot twice in the head. Cunanan would commit suicide a week later, after having killed five people in three months.
- D) The Rosetta Stone is discovered by a French soldier in Egypt, who finds a black basalt slab inscribed with ancient writing near the town of Rosetta. The irregularly shaped stone contains fragments of passages written in three different scripts, and holds the key to translating ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics.
