• C) Viking 1, the robotic US spacecraft built to explore the surface of Mars, is launched into space.
• D) Indie film company A24 is launched by Daniel Katz, David Fenkel, and John Hodges. It goes on to release such Oscar-winning films including Moonlight and Everything Everywhere All at Once.
