📜 September 14: On This Day in History | | The Golden age | Image: GO Banking Rates | Each of the following events happened on September 14. Your challenge is to put them in the order in which they occurred by year, earliest to latest. Answers at the bottom! - A) The Golden Girls, a sitcom centering on four older women—a group usually ignored on TV—premieres. The show is an instant hit, and ultimately runs for seven seasons and 180 episodes.
- B) The Kellogg Company begins selling Pop-Tarts. The innovative portable breakfast treat—and anytime snack—would go on to sell billions annually and help redefine the breakfast food market.
- C) MLB cancels its playoffs after players go on strike. It marks the first year in almost a century without a World Series winner, and prematurely ends one of baseball’s most exciting seasons in recent memory.
- D) Francis Scott Key pens “The Star-Spangled Banner,” which is later set to music and becomes America’s national anthem. The poem, originally titled “The Defence of Fort M'Henry,” is written after Key witnessed the Maryland fort being bombarded by the British.
Hint: Each pack has 2 Pop-Tarts in it |
