If Prime Day 2022 were a movie, it'd be The Gray Man – so good Amazon almost immediately decided to make a sequel. One that promises to outdo even the original.
But regardless of whether the sequel ends up being better (has it ever been though? Serious question), a lot of people will still go see it. According to a recent survey by Numerator, nearly one-third of America will be shopping at Amazon over these next two days, up from 29.9% during Prime Day 1.

🛒 Zoom out: If you’ve ever heard the phrase “monkey-see, monkey-do,” just map it onto the retail industry – when one major retailer holds a blowout sale, they all follow suit (especially with excess inventory on hand). Walmart, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Kohl’s are all planning flash sale events that coincide with Prime Day 2, while Target beat them all to the punch with a two-day sales event last week.
+In the know: The first Prime Day of the year resulted in a record $12.0 billion in total sales, up from $11.2 billion in 2021.
⚡️🚛 EV startup Rivian is recalling almost all of the vehicles it’s ever made to address a loose bolt that could cause drivers to lose steering control, the company announced Friday.
