The class in question? “Calling Bullsh*t,” a course offered by the University of Montana since 2021. And you don’t even have to be in the class to glean its first lesson – provocative stuff sells.

• The course was originally called News Literacy. But “[w]e had about 20 students in the class because, let’s face it, the title was boring,” course instructor Professor Lee Banville said in a recent press release. “[After] [c]alling it B.S., we had 40 students this summer and 102 are enrolled this fall.”
