Yesterday, neurotechnology startup Synchron announced it has successfully connected its brain implant to an Apple Vision Pro headset, allowing a 64-year old man with ALS to control the device using only his thoughts. Synchron, which belongs to the increasingly competitive brain-computer interface industry alongside Elon Musk’s Neuralink and Blackrock Neurotech, says it plans to eventually connect its brain implant to other headsets outside Apple’s ecosystem.
