👍 Yes (61%) – "There is no pathway left for a Biden victory. Nor would Harris be a good alternative. Democrats need someone who will go after Trump, someone who can out-Trump, Trump. Someone who can energize young voters. Does this sound like anything Biden can do? It does not."
"It's time for a candidate that people can feel enthusiastic about. Biden should leave on a high note and pass the baton to someone who can hopefully run with it for another 8 years. Biden and his administration have done fine the last four years but here we are again relying on voters to show up because they are motivated to vote against Trump rather than for Biden."
"I am a right leaning middle of the aisle voter. While I would never vote for Biden personally, I feel that if the democrats want to win this election, they need somebody younger and in better health than Biden. The people on both sides of the aisle that I have spoken to, cannot believe that in a country this large we can only come up with two 80 year old men to run for president. Everybody I have had conversations with want a younger candidate on both sides."
👎 No (25%) – "If Biden drops out, there will be a huge battle among Democrats as to who will replace him on the ticket. Harris is too divisive to take on Trump -- as with Hilary Clinton, there are people who will come out to vote precisely in order to vote against her. There is no obvious successor and the infighting will be ugly and will ensure a loss to Trump. Biden has beaten Trump before and while no one changes their vote due to a debate, this display of disunity in the party is going to create uncertainty and drive people to Trump or away from the polls altogether."
"If Biden stays in the race he will surely lose. This gives Trump an easy victory. Every Republican has an obligation to encourage Biden to stay in the race. Republicans should be holding pro-Biden rallies to insure he stays in the race."
🤷 Unsure/other (14%) – "I don’t align strictly with one party or the other. My allegiance is bound to side with whoever makes decisions or intends to make decisions that are best for me and my family. I have faith in Biden, but if his team is strongly suggesting that he step down (because we are all doubtful when it comes to his sound presence of mind majority of the time), then he should. The President should be able to act according not only to his own will, but to the will of those who act and advise on his behalf. Trump is not capable of this, himself. I will also say it’s an urgent matter. If Biden is going to step down, he needs to do it soon so folks leaning democrat for this election have time to warm to a new democratic candidate."
