Helped his chances (18%) – "Harris did not define a solid economic plan. Only providing blanket statements. The few specifics she did provide would only exacerbate the already edgy issue of inflation. Her knowledge of business and economics appears to be limited. Trump is a proven commodity when it comes to improving the economy. Trump held his personal insults to a minimum, which is what everyone was watching to see. He gets fired up so easily, and he did better than anyone I know expected. Kamala came off a bit dipsy. I was surprised at her vocal demeanor. She doesn't seem ready for the Presidential limelight. I wish our choices were better, but it is what it is."
Harmed his chances (51%) – "While neither party gave me a deep understanding of their intended policies and plans, Trump’s reactions and responses seemed unhinged and give me extreme pause about what access to power would look like for him. At the end of the day it’s unsettling to me to imagine someone, who seemed so rattled by valid remarks and criticisms, having access to nuclear weapons."
Had no material impact (31%) – "Although I think Kamala soundly bested Trump, I also don't think this debate will affect Trump's chances of winning. It was pretty clear that the moderators had a favorite in the debate and that sort of bias is exactly the sort of thing that energizes Trump's base. Thus, even though Trump didn't do well (and had crazy off the wall tangents), I don't think it matters much to people who already were going to vote for him."
Helped her chances (68%) – "She had clear, well thought out policy proposals, was pleasant and kept her focus on other people and their needs. She did have a couple of instances where she didn't answer the question, but Trump definitely did that many more times, as well."
Harmed her chances (14%) – "She came off as unlikable and arrogant. She didn’t answer a single question and spent her time on stage talking more about Trump than what she would do as president."
Had no material impact (18%) – "I think that most people have made up their minds long ago. In this race, the Independents are the only ones that will nudge the result one way or another."
