Do you have a positive or negative opinion of President Trump’s job performance just over a year into his second term?

Positive (31%) – "Moving this country in the right direction after going down the darkest period in american history. Economic growth, slowed inflation, prioritized America first in the world, and stopped the social and environmental lunacy that had taken a hold on our country in the past administration."

  • "If it was possible to a "blind test" and simply present the facts without the judgment and prejudice that exists along party lines, this would be considered one of the greatest years in American history. But, political objectivity no longer exists in America...well, except in the person of John Fetterman. Both sides are ridiculous. It's been a very good year."

"While I voted for the guy, I don’t think he’s perfect. I wish he would say things in a nicer way - more nuanced. But I like the fact that he’s closed the border. I don’t want criminals here and I don’t understand defending them. Defrauding the American people is criminal behavior and it hurts us all. Keeping criminals in jail is better for the people. In my state - a blue one - we have a government that sets criminals free pretty quickly. The result is that crime is up. When they seemed to come to their senses and made it a crime again to steal a car, voila! Car theft went down. Prices are coming down. The stock market is going up. Government job is to reward the behavior that you want more of. The current president is not perfect, not even close. But he is a hell of a lot better for most of us than the alternative."

Negative (66%) – "I did not vote for President Trump, but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and had genuine hopes that he would deliver for the American people. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Many promises were made that were never realistic or achievable. What continues to baffle me is how someone with no prior political experience was elected to the highest office in the country. The presidency demands not only leadership and knowledge of government, but also respect discipline and an understanding of the responsibility that comes with his role. His demeanor and repeated display of disrespect toward certain groups of people have been deeply disappointing and, at times deplorable."

  • "His lies and other behavior set a bad moral tone, plus his policies are having a horrible impact on the environment. He favors companies and rich people over normal Americans."

"The economy for most people is NOT good with higher prices on groceries and housing continuing to increase. He has sundered relationships with our allies. His aggressive and, in many ways, illegal immigration policies of resulted in the deaths of at least four people this year alone, the arrest and detention of citizens, and created a jobs vaccum for farmers and AG Industries that will lead to higher prices. His tariffs have resulted in higher prices for consumers, and have done nothing to spur economic development. Finally he has enriched himself, his family, and his synchophants in ways that would have got other Presidents impreached."

  • "The US has become the world’s bully. Trump keeps stirring things up so we don’t notice how he is lining his own pockets. Now we can’t even trust what the government is reporting as they could be reporting only favorable stats to support the administration. I have no trust that this administration cares about us Americans only their own self gratification"

"Your article points out some economic "improvements" under Trump. That's great. We need that. But the overall impression of him will never improve as long as he continues to belittle, berate, insult and go after anyone who dares to question him or his administration about policy or anything else. And a few of his economic policies (like any other President) have an opportunity to improve a few segments but largely the average American will continue to struggle financially. And the sad truth is he will spend the rest of his presidency searching for all the negatives he can find. A few good economic indicators won't change the impression he makes every day with his mouth. I've disagreed with a lot of Presidents (mainly Democratic) over the years because of ridiculous programs but I never had a "negative" impression of them due to their constant efforts at dividing of our nation."

  • "Let's start with Inflation, lack of employment opportunities, lack of reasonable housing, divisiveness caused by the administration, and violence against our own people. Let's not forget the dissolution of the constitution of America"

"I don’t like the bills that he is pushing. Mostly benefiting the rich, then giving crumbs to the poor/other so it distracts them JUST enough from noticing everything he is giving to the 1%. I do have to say, he IS doing pretty much what he said he was going to do. Got to give him credit for that."

Unsure/other (3%) – "I hate to waffle, but it’s a mixed bag, though definitely more on the unfavorable side. I do think he’s done a nice job with the markets, and I do think we needed to address the immigrant problem. I think a lot of the perceived problems with his administration is just democrat noise and posturing, but I’m definitely not on board with everything he’s done."
