In your opinion, should Ukraine push for a negotiated end to the war as soon as possible (likely with significant land concessions), or keep fighting as their drones reshape the conflict?

Push for peace quickly (22%) – "They are a small country that has lost a significant portion of two generations of men. Every citizen of Ukraine has already suffered significant personal losses. Losing a bit of land is nothing compared to what they have already sacrificed. Every Ukrainian citizen is a hero, many times over."

  • "It would be better long term economically (even if a long way to go) but also maybe it’s time for the people , ordinary people , to decide how the country should be run."

Keep fighting for now (59%) – "Ukraine, for all its disadvantages in this conflict, has held their own. Russian forces are taking a beating. Ukraine has made incursions into Russia. This is not a winnable war for either side. But Ukrainians should not concede one inch of ground to their invaders. Appeasement does not work. Putin is already making his intentions known against Armenia."

  • "If Ukraine and NATO countries allow Russia to retain land they have gained illegally this will embolden them to try to move forward again, not only into Ukraine but into other European countries after they have rebuilt their depleted military."

"I would keep fighting for my land that was stolen from me if I were in Ukraine's shoes. Additionally, a decisive blow against Russia would likely change global politics: Russia would lose credit as a world power and threat, while Ukraine would earn respect and be seen as a more legitimate player on the global stage. I do concede that a longer war will tragically lead to countless more dead. I don't think the long-term solution is to give in to Russia though. Doing such a thing would legitimize the occurrence of the war, which would set a precedent and endanger global peace."

  • "The continued fighting has turned in Ukraine’s favor and seems to have found Putin on his back foot. A weakened Putin may well lead to regime change in Russia, a desirable outcome for the entire world."

"Europe needs to support Ukraine for it's own defense or they'll be next for the Russian taste for 'take over'. Time for Ukraine gets shorter every day as their military numbers and material assets aren't nearly as inexhaustible as Russia's. We need to take away our defensive 'umbrella' from Europe so they know we are serious about them defending themselves. They seem to have enough to spend on socialist nonsense but nothing for defense for themselves or Ukraine that is substantial. Britain, former ruler of the seas, can hardly get one ship out of dry dock repairs now to do anything much less wage any sort of war or defense on the high seas and it's emblematic of Europe in general."

  • "We are good friends with a Ukrainian family who fled the war and live in Illinois. As much as I would like the war to end, they have sacrificed too much for it to end with Russia getting significant concessions and no assurances that this wouldn’t happen again."

Unsure/other (19%) – "The war needs to end. It should have never began. But I don't agree with rewarding Putin with land concessions. But I hate seeing civilians hurt & killed."

  • "I am deeply underequipped to answer this question. I don't have manpower reports, intelligence assessments, morale surveys, financial forecasts, or international alliance-or-maybe-not meetings providing me the information I would need to even remotely answer this question. This is a question only Zelenskyy, propelled or constrained by the Ukrainian civic, military, and industrial bases can answer."
