Do you approve or disapprove of President Trump’s job performance so far in his second term?

Approve (23%) – "The US is being taken seriously again as a world power. I'm very pleased that Europe is waking up to the fact that we've basically gifted them security since WWII. As a soldier stationed in Germany three times, I've seen how much we were spending there. It's about time they pay their fare share of the cost of securing their freedom."

  • "I approve of the job he's doing keeping us safe and free. Being shortsighted hoping for cheaper gas and complaining will not do the complainers or the world any good in the long run. I do wish he'd just do the job without talking about it though. It detracts from the good work he's doing and is, at best, a snapshot of what he's doing/thinking at that moment. Iran needs to be taken out as it will continue to be a world killing/controlling organization if the IRGC continues to exist; they do not negotiate, they stall and regroup. Trump surely realizes this and I wonder if the bombing only stopped due to our limited supply which we need to work on. Perhaps more simple bombs rather than precision munitions would be a good idea. The Iranian people will never take control while the powerful guard still exists."

Disapprove (72%) – "Going in, many assumed it would be bad. The reality has been unimaginably worse. Every presidency encounters unexpected problems. This presidency CREATES intractable new problems. Grade school children are taught about Warren Harding's Teapot Dome scandal. Trump actively participates in an average of three major scandals PER WEEK. Here is the good news: 1. America will likely never again elect a doddering 75 year old and 2. Iran will be the LAST petroleum/oil war. We are very slow to learn, but I believe we have at least learned those two key lessons."

  • "I don’t like the regime or the policies. In fact, I cannot come up with a single policy that has gone into place in the last 1.5 years that I think is remotely good for most of this country. I love public lands,; I support people of all races, ethnicities, genders, and sexual preferences; and I’m sick of the handouts and subsidies to the wealthiest Americans; and I think these “wars” we are choosing to partake in are completely unnecessary. I also work in healthcare, and have patients choosing hospice over treatment due to cost, and 70+ year olds going to work at Walmart to afford gas and groceries. I don’t know how anyone that’s “America first” would be okay with the current state of the country."

"Trumps's second term has been a classic case of how not to run an administration. I can't help but label this a bi-polar administration. He flits from the topic at hand to the curtains in the white house, the arch, UFC, the reflecting pool, ad nauseum. I keep thinking that these are trivial issues, not presidential issues. Steve Bannon was correct when he said during Trumps second term they would "flood the zone", with so many issues that the media and the public wouldn't be able to focus on any on issue for any proper amount of time. He nailed that thought as this has definitely come to pass. The wounds of this administration are self-inflicted."

  • "It seems that our President is more focused on his own personal glory, rather than the glory of the USA. He wants to build "memorials" to himself. He wants to punish his enemies. He wants to get rid of/deport/fire legal immigrants and people of color. He wants to reward his friends by placing them in high places. He has surrounded himself with unqualified advisors, and the decisions being made are not rational. The United States of America is no longer the "land of the free.""

"I do not approve of President Trump's performance to date. He has failed to deliver many of the items he campaigned on, including keeping us out of unnecessary wars, lowering grocery and gas prices and making America great. We were a well respected country world-wide before his presidency while still having problems needing to be solved. President Trump's attempt at retribution and his obsession with calling people names is totally unacceptable for the leader of the free world. I agree, Europe needs to step up in preparing for their own defense. I agree immigration needed to be controlled compared to the inner in which the Biden administration conducted immigration. I agree Iran should not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons and I agree fraud and government corruption needs to be attacked and we need to hold those accountable for what they have done. I don't agree in the manner in which President Trumps conducts business to accomplish these things. Strong arming and calling people names, sometimes obscene names, is totally unacceptable."

  • "I disapprove of Donald Trump’s performance because his actions consistently appear driven by self-enrichment, personal protection, and rewarding those who support him, rather than serving the welfare of the country or improving the lives of its people."

"I am thankful that people are pushing back, although it is frightening to do so. The Executive Branch has too much power and that was not the system in which our country was built."

Unsure/other (5%) – "It's so hard to make a reasonable decision about the administration's performance. There are so many factors at play. My emotional reaction to what's going on is disapproval, but I am aware that there are thousands if not millions of factors at play in outcomes and results, and that I (and the American people) have incredibly limited knowledge of why and how decisions are made. A lot of President Trump's behavior and statements feel erratic and wild, hard to understand. And yet the man has been wildly successful in many endeavors and as a businessman, it seems unlikely to me that there's not a bunch of underlying reasons for decisions he's made. It's confusing, and while I'll never like or approve of the man himself, it's hard to make an objective call on the results of his policies. The economy feels like it's in the tank, so it seems straightforward, but the global economy is also complex. It's hard to draw causation from our couches."
