On the whole, which of the following best describes your opinion of SpaceX’s current valuation?

It’s overvalued (70%) – "The standard formula for evaluating a companies worth is 2-10x the yearly profit, with a factor for wild card growth factors. Musk's companies get much more than that because they know the system is rigged in his favor and that his companies will grow regardless of performance. It is simply unsustainable and may take down the whole economic system due to the incestuous intermingling of investments across the globe."

  • "Isn't the whole concept of how stock prices work is that we value companies based on our impressions & emotions about how valuable a company is rather than the actual #s? So, yes, SpaceX is overvalued, and maybe in quantities higher than ever seen before. But also, there's nothing especially new or shocking about company stocks trading at a higher value than it's valuation. That's how this whole thing works."

"It's definitely overvalued currently but I think people are betting on it's future. After all, was Albert Einstein 'overvalued' before he came up with relativity? Stocks are like betting on horse racing in many ways unless you are looking at hard fundamentals and track records plus being able to make a good guess at the 'future' of the 'market' and possible 'disrupters'. And how many 'good' scientists could you have bet on that didn't make it?"

  • "93 times earnings and buying into hype is not my investment philosophy. Love the company though and am not a Elon hater by any means."

"I think anything with Elon is overvalued, because much of it is based on belief in him rather than viability of the product. I do think Elon is one of the true visionaries of our lifetime, but he also has his hand in many, many things, which dilutes his attention to any particular company or project."

  • "I believe that people have been fooled into thinking it'a great company, led by an honest man, & it's gonna make them a billionaire."

It’s around fair value (16%) – "The value of a company is whatever someone else is willing to pay for it. If the market thinks SpaceX is worth that much, then it is. And if enough people lose faith in its business case the value will fall accordingly."

It’s undervalued (14%) – "If there's one thing I learned over the past decade, it's never to count out Elon Musk when it comes to growing a business. He may not reach the lofty goals he's set on the super-ambitious timeline he's hoping for, but Musk will get closer than many people are expecting—which is still incredibly valuable."
