In your opinion, when will the ongoing US-Iran conflict officially conclude?

Within 0-3 months (10%) – "Trump is serious about the Iran war, and realizes theye must be dealt with swiftly once and for all, probably ahead of the November midterms."

Within 3-6 months (15%) – "Both parties are stubborn. Trump has no patience. Iran is the master of the long game. Trump will not compromise until he realizes that this conflict can not be won militarily. He has been checkmated by the closing of he Strait of Hormuz. Everyone involved seems to fully understand that - except him."

  • "I think the Democratic party will flip enough seats in the coming elections. This will put handcuffs on Trump and force a treaty."

Within 6-12 months (17%) – "Iranian leaders have already shown that they are not logical, or empathetic toward their people, but instead irrationally proud and power driven. The conclusion of this is that they would rather be crippled than admitting anything short of an equal compromise, which makes the current military tactics of the US honestly useless. The US failed in Vietnam for similar reasons: the Vietnamese would not loose moral and continued fighting despite extreme losses and an uneven playing field, which in the end made it too costly for the US to continue. It is likely the US will eventually withdraw simply because of the cost of continuing a conflict going nowhere."

  • "Truthfully, I would say longer, but the only reason that it would end earlier is because of finite resources. Basically, the US would run out of oil (or oil that we can use). Now, if we try to find new ways to produce power, that might help, but that doesn't address the incredibly oil-reliant infrastructure that we have with cars or plastic production. We've already nearly drained all of the oil from our reserves that can realistically be drained."

At least 1 year (58%) – "There aren't enough conventional munitions left in the entire US stockpile to force an end to this, and the Trump administration's track record at negotiations leaves us with an equally bleak outlook. Ground action would be even more disastrous."

"I don't see an end to this conflict since it appears Iran has enough military weapons in their inventory to keep going despite what this administration claims. For Iran to keep attacking in the region after we were told we had decimated their military, it seems like this will go one for some time."

  • "It doesn't seem like Trump has the appetite to bomb the living daylights out of Iran, otherwise he would have already done so and certainly found support in various pockets of the US and government. Due to that fact, I think this will be ongoing for a while longer. Diplomacy seems to be a priority, or he's being advised as such, so I think negotiations and resolution won't come quickly."

"This president went into this war without an exit plan. He can't exit and be in better shape than he was before the war started. Iran is not going to give up the Strait of Hormuz. This will be an ongoing war until at least the end of this president's term."

  • "I am being pessimistic. Hopefully, the conflict ends much sooner, but it seems that this administration will continue to go back and forth as a political strategy vs a genuine interest in long-standing peace."

"I have zero faith of the Trump administration getting out of this idiotic war they started. Trump has never and will never admit to losing a single thing, whether it’s war, elections, or a World Cup he wasn’t even part of. His truly childish thinking lead the “no new wars” candidate into a new war, and the only reason it hasn’t been a bigger disaster as far as oil prices go is actually China. I expect this conflict to drag on just as all our others in the Middle East have, with the only real winners being the military industrial complex."
