Republican (26%) – "I would vote for either party that I thought was moderate. Since there are no moderate parties anymore, I'll take conservatives over socialists. I'm a registered independent."
"I think both candidates have issues but the democratic candidate is too liberal and leans towards socialists programs."
Democratic (59%) – "The republicans have proven they won't stand up to Trump who has proven he won't keep us out of wars, won't reduce the deficit, won't follow the law, and generally won't protect human life, dignity, and freedom. But he will use the presidency to enrich himself and his friends and family."
"Republicans have not done enough to change anything since they've had the trifecta. (Presidency, House, Senate) There's still corruption (albeit more than 2 years ago), many vote along with Trump even when he's wrong - they lost their individual voices, and everything is unaffordable and broken (healthcare, cost of living, education). We also need smart thinking on what AI looks like in our future including some sort of regulation which republicans have refused to take action on in any meaningful way while they've been in control (except invite all tech leaders to white house parties)."
"I don't trust the Republicans in office. They seem outside the rule of law and any laws and lack integrity. I believe Trump cheated in the past presidential election and am ashamed that he represents our country. There may be times I would vote Republican with candidates I trust but right now, I do not trust any of them."
Third-party (5%) – "I do not vote for old people in office anyone over 65 or about to turn 65 should not run for office! I will not vote for anyone who has worked for a senate or congress as the are party controlled I only vote for someone who is able and willing to represent the People not the Party"
Split decision (6%) – "In order for our government to function the way it was intended, voters should vote for the person most closely aligned to their core beliefs, not a letter after their name. Few people are truly all one or the other, but rather move along the political spectrum. Voting for someone you don't align with just because they have a certain affiliation is why we face many of the issues we do today."
Unsure/other (4%) – "I'm still on the fence between our two less-than-stellar candidates, but I'll have my mind made up come Election Day."
