✨ Mantra of the Week ✨

I have amazing strength within me. Beautiful things are coming my way.

👏🔦 The Sweet Spotlight

💪 The strongest man in the world?

Images: Instagram, Hunter Moore

Hunter Moore has been bullied most of his life. The 16-year-old high schooler has dystonic cerebral palsy due to a stroke he suffered at nine months old.

  • Hunter's condition left him partially paralyzed on the left side of his body, and doctors told his parents he would have issues trying to walk, would never run, and would be raised in a wheelchair.

The family moved regularly due to the father's job in the military, and Hunter struggled to make friends. He often dealt with bullies teasing him over his condition.

As long as Hunter can remember, however, he's wanted to prove them all wrong.

  • He shared that his parents "always told me that I can do anything that I set my mind to and that I should never let Cerebral Palsy define me."
  • And after placing first in both natural and disabled body building competitions last year, he's done just that.

🏈 No limit... Hunter isn't just a bodybuilder; he's also an accomplished athlete. The high-schooler has played seven years of soccer, five years of flag football, and tackle football since 7th grade. He's the long snapper on his JV football team.

  • While Hunter knows his body is different than most people's, he takes it as a creative challenge at the gym and on the field. Whether it's chest pressing with one arm or deadlifting with his left arm hooked around the bar, he always finds a way to make it happen.

📝 Bottom line: Hunter's biggest inspiration is his dad, who always encouraged the teen to work through his challenges and never give up.

Hunter was nervous for his first competition – especially with the onstage posing – but he went through with it anyway thanks to his father's support.

  • "I faced my fears and did it anyway," he shared, "and while I was posing on stage I looked out and saw my dad crying with pride."
  • "The message that I want to give others is to never back down. Do not let others define you and never let a medical situation define you. Fear nothing, try everything, and 'Prove Them All Wrong!'”

🍦 Micah, the little McFlurry

Images: Analysia Beck

Wisconsin mom Analysia Beck was not expecting to welcome her third bundle of joy as early as she did.

She started going into labor with two young kids at home – and by the time the babysitter arrived and she and her husband made it into the car, she was well into contractions. To make matters worse, they faced a massive snowstorm on their way to the hospital.

🍟 Do you want fries with that?... Analysia's husband, Daniel, was forced to pull into a McDonald's parking lot. She climbed into the backseat, while he called the paramedics.

  • Baby Micah was born soon after, with paramedics there to whisk the mom and baby to the hospital. Both are healthy and doing well.

🍔 Coming soon to a McDonald's near you: Micah has already garnered the nicknames "Little McNugget" and "Little McFlurry." And while the latter is no Grimace Shake, sources tell us that the possibility of it hitting the McD's menu has the purple monster quaking in his proverbial boots.

🍩 DONUT Holes

⚡️ Born to build... Lanny Smoot is an inventor through and through. The Disney Imagineer invented the extendable lightsaber now used in Disney Live Entertainment, and is the creator of 106 patents and counting. For all his work, Lanny earned himself a spot in the National Inventors Hall of Fame this year.

🛶 Hidden treasure... Twenty-eight years ago, Julia Hsia was visiting Arizona when she lost her wallet in the Salt River. But, like a misplaced phone, it wasn't actually lost. Just last month, it was found by Dr. Jeremy Bingham – who was able to get the wallet back to its original owner almost three decades later.

🍿 Moose on the loose... Last year, employees at a movie theater in Kenai, Alaska, opened their doors to get some fresh air when they were visited by a wild moose – who strolled right in to enjoy some free popcorn.

😇 Mindulness Moments

🦉 Are you an early bird or a night owl?

Personally, I'm a major night owl – always have been. I find myself most productive from the hours of 6pm–1am (might as well call me nocturnal🌝).

Whether your brain power is highest in the middle of the night like mine or best bright and early in the morning, there are benefits to practicing mindfulness when you're most in-tune with yourself.

Check out these journaling prompts for morning vs. evening, and try your hand at the ones that coincide with your schedule.

What are you waiting for? Grab a pen and get writing...

A breakfast you won’t feel guilty about

🤔 Did you know… many breakfast/cereal bars contain as much sugar as a donut? Listen, we’re the last bunch to knock donuts, but when it comes to being healthy (especially with New Year's resolutions upon us), they aren’t ideal.

Luckily, Olyra Fruit-Filled Breakfast Biscuits are organic, and with only six grams of sugar, contain far less sugar than cereal bars and other fruit bars. They’re also high in fiber (9g), gut-friendly, made with four ancient Greek grains, and boast “the perfect ratio of filling-to-biscuit.”

📚 Sofia S. from Thorton, Colorado, is proving that hard work pays off...

  • "I got my first A in geometry all year today on a quiz. I'm really bad at math and i really needed this to boost my confidence in myself so i can try harder. It's hard to keep your head up when you get C's or lower. So, yay!"

🫂 Julianne B. from Silver Spring, Maryland, is finding joy in helping others...

  • "I ran an MLK Day of Service event on Monday for my local Girl Scout Service Unit. We had over 100 girls running and completing projects to serve the community. Projects included kindness rocks, letters to Ukrainian refugees, bear shaped washcloths for cancer patients, wildflower seed bombs, dog blankets for the local shelter and much much more! All the Scouts enjoyed the event and it was great to make a difference in our community!"

🍩❤️ Philip W. from Pensacola, Florida, is feeling the love for Positive DONUT...

  • "I'm an old widowed curmudgeon... l infrequently see little wins in my future except for my weekly Positive Donut!"
